Kuala Lumpur, 30 September 2009 – Entries for the Digital category in the Kancil Awards are up by 100% in comparison to last year. With more clients embracing digital media these days, it is no wonder that entries have increased exponentially.

There was also a noticeable increase in mid-sized agencies submitting their best works for the 10 Kancil Awards categories. “In view of the tough economic times and budget cutbacks for award show submissions, we have had a lower amount of entries for this year’s Kancils. However, we are pleased to note that many agencies have responded with the challenge to strive for creativity not only through their work but in key media channels like digital.” said Kancil’s organizing chairman, Ng Chiew Ping.

The Creative jury will convene this weekend to judge all 757 entries submitted by 53 agencies. Foreign judges Thirasak Tanapatanakul from Thailand, Tay Guan Hin from Singapore and Agnello Dias from India will be joining our local luminaries in a 2-day intensive close-door session in deciding which creative works deserves to be awarded.

The winning entries will be announced on 30 October 2009, at the Kancil Awards 2009 night at Sime Darby Convention Centre, where the best creative idea in each category will be awarded with a Golden Kancil.
