TheStar : Largest jury at the Kancils

THIS year’s Kancil Awards, organised by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents (4As), will feature the largest line-up of jurors ever in the history of this creative awards show.

The 4As says in a statement that seven international and 41 local judges would be involved this year. Kancil Awards 2009 jury chairman SP Lee says: “In most years, the Kancils have had 30 or so jurors. But this year, the larger panel is necessary as the 10 new categories require more specialists within each discipline.

“This also reflects the call for a larger representation for a body which has grown to include over 100 member agencies.”

Joining local experts in the judging will be international award-winning heavyweights such as Creative Juice worldwide co-chairman Thirasak Tanapatanakul, JWT regional executive creative director (South-East Asia) Tay Guan Hin of JWT Singapore, Taproot India chief creative officer Agnello Dias, and TBWA partner and group executive creative director Andy Blood.

The deadline for submissions is Sept 4. Only entries published, circulated, shown or aired in Malaysia or in international media from Oct 11, 2008, to Sept 4, 2009, are eligible.
