Investment Contributes To Brand Enhancement

Building greater awareness for brands is not only worthwhile but a necessary investment which contributes to their financial enhancement, says Jennifer Chan, organising chairperson of Malaysia's Most valuable Brands (MMVB) 2012.

She said brands must have a distinctive and unique personality in order for companies, products or services to have a competitive edge. Brand building is the sum of multiple components.

"Strong brands build a strong economy but ultimately the financial performance and stability of a brand is the result of marketing efforts and corporate governance," she told a press conference to highlight the bi-annual MMVB 2012 which would be held in October to honour some of Malaysia's top public-listed brands.

Some of Malaysia's most prestigious brands will vie for top ranking based on brand valuation in the fourth edition of the MMVB organised by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents (4As) Malaysia.

Its President, Tony Savarimuthu, said the value of top 30 brands selected in 2007 amounted to RM57 billion and this rose to RM62 billion in 2008 before dipping to RM54 billion a year later.
